Qualified and professional

Manukau Leisure's national and international accreditations are proof of our professionalism and commitment to being the best at everything we do. In addition to the industry-specific credentials listed below, Manukau Leisure also ensures that all frontline staff hold current first aid certificates awarded by Red Cross, and undergo police vetting procedures prior to their employment. Furthermore, Manukau Leisure is an Equal Opportunities Employer (EEO) and is a registered Approved Training Organisation with the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Fitness industry accreditations

As well as the company having ‘approved provider’ status under the Register of Fitness Professionals (REPs), all fitness instructors are also registered individually. Our fitness division, which includes seven Community Gyms and Marina Fitness, is a member of the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA), and Fitness New Zealand.

Aquatic industry accreditations

All Manukau Leisure aquatic facilities are approved to PoolSafe standards, and all aquatics staff gain NZQA credits towards the National Pool Lifeguard Award. Additionally, senior staff hold NZQA approved Advanced Pool Water Testing qualifications, and we have WaterCare Laboratory Services complete bacterial testing on our pool water every month.

Childcare industry accreditations

Our Kauri Kids staff are all either qualified early childhood educators, with an NZQA approved Diploma of Teaching (ECE) or Bachelor of Teaching (ECE), or are currently studying towards their qualifications. Our preschool childcare centres are licensed with the Ministry of Education and we work closely with Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) to offer subsidised childcare where appropriate.

Recreation industry accreditations

Our recreation centres run programmes that are appropriate for people of all ages and from all walks of life. Many of our staff have sport and recreation qualifications and all given the opportunity to up-skill via our robust in-house training programmes with Skills Active. Our Out of School Care (OSCAR) programmes are approved by Child, Youth and Family Services (CYFS) and are registered with the OSCAR Foundation.
