Moana-Nui-ā-Kiwa Leisure Centre
Situated in the heart of Mangere, the Moana-Nui-a-Kiwa Leisure Centre is a large and busy complex which caters for the whole community. Facilities include recreation centre, swimming pool, Community Gyms fitness centre, and space to hire for your next event.
Recreation centre
Our recreation centre offers a variety of recreation programmes to get you active. Programmes cater from toddler gymnastics through to elderly recreation. In addition to our recreation programmes that run each term, we also offer local families the convenience of structured school holiday programmes and out of school care (OSCAR).
Swimming pools
For fitness or fun, Moana-Nui-aKiwa Leisure Centre is ideal for all ages, all year round, with indoor and outdoor pools. The indoor pool complex features a 25 metre lap/leisure pool, learners pool, and a toddlers’ splash pool complete with island and sprinkler. The outdoor pool complex features five irregular shaped pools (including 2.6 metre bombing pool) and water slides.
In the indoor complex you can sit back and relax in the spa pool, or heat up in the separate sex saunas. Or, learn to swim with our resident swim school, Swimsation. They cater for all levels of swimmers from babies and toddlers, through to squad swimmers and adults.

Disabled Access
Manukau Leisure works hard to provide inclusive opportunities for all people regardless of ability or disability. We work closely with Manukau City Council to improve accessibility to our facilities and provide active leisure opportunities for all people. At Moana-Nui-a-Kiwa Leisure Centre there is disabled access into the main pool and teaching pools. Access is gained via a disability chair.
Fitness centre
The Moana-Nui-a-Kiwa Community Gym makes getting fit and staying fit as easy as possible. With our affordable membership options, you’ll be able to get in shape and have fun doing it. Take advantage of our group fitness classes that take place in our stadium and pool. »more
Venue hire
Our pool facilities and recreation centre are available to hire by community groups, schools and for private events. Our centre is ideal for hosting sporting events, public meetings, children’ birthday parties, private functions or wedding receptions. »more

Weekends & public holidays: 9.00am – 6.45pm
(Excludes fitness centre, and spa and sauna)

December – March: 10.00am – 6.45pm
Summer school holidays: 10.00am – 7.45pm
April – November: Closed
