Norman Kirk Memorial Pools redevelopment

Otara Leisure Centre’s pool (Noman Kirk Memorial Pool) will be closed from October 2009 through to October 2010, while a brand new indoor pool complex is developed.

The current pool will be demolished to make room for a new 25 metre, four lane lap pool, a combined leisure and teaching pool, and a toddlers’ pool. New services will include a 30 square metre spa and two saunas.

The recreation and fitness centre will remain open and operate as normal during the 12 month project. Temporary access to the fitness centre will be via the shopping centre side of the building, on Newbury Street.
