About Manukau Leisure

Manukau Leisure’s mission is to build vibrant communities in Manukau. We do this through providing fitness, childcare and a wide range of recreation and community services.

Manukau Leisure was founded in 2007, one of the first large council owned companies to be formed in New Zealand. We are owned by Manukau City Council, and run and develop all Council owned leisure facilities and programmes. We have 400 staff and our facilities attract over 3.5 million visits every year.

While Manukau Leisure’s commercial activities in childcare and fitness are self funded, we ensure quality services are delivered without increase in the price structure previously offered by the Council, including free access to many services and facilities

Our head office is located at the Allan Brewster Recreation Centre, at the end of Tavern Lane in Papatoetoe.
