We do this through providing fitness, childcare, leisure, swimming and a wide range of recreation and community services.

Manukau Leisure was founded in 2007, one of the first large council owned companies to be formed in New Zealand. We have now become a stand-alone business unit within the newly formed Parks, Sport and Recreation Department of Auckland Council. We run and develop all Council owned leisure facilities and programmes in Manukau. We have 400 staff and our facilities attract over 3.5 million visits every year.

While Manukau Leisure’s commercial activities in childcare and fitness are self funded, we ensure quality recreation and swimming services are delivered without increase in the price structure previously offered by the Council. This includes free swimming pools in Manukau.

Our head office is located at the Allan Brewster Recreation Centre, at the end of Tavern Lane in Papatoetoe.
